World Veteran's Federation Congress 2024 in Juba South Sudan
South Sudan - Veterans news. We finally got confirmation of a project that we have been working on for a long time. Now the implementation starts. Thanks to our WVF Vice President for African Affairs, Mr. Tut Gatwech Garang and South Sudans Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Gen. Chol Thon Balok, for their work. Now our hard work will start.

"World Veterans Federation Plans International Conference on Peace and Security in South Sudan.
The World Veterans Federation (WVF) announced plans to host a week-long international conference in Juba, South Sudan in March 2024. The conference aims to address the crucial topics of peace and security, with a particular focus on the role of veterans in promoting stability and progress in the country.
In a letter addressed to President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Mr. Dan Viggo Bergtun, the Honorary President of WVF, expressed his gratitude for the president’s dedication to the veterans in South Sudan and acknowledged the importance of ensuring their well-being in order to achieve national progress. Mr. Bergtun also highlighted his previous visits to the country, during which he engaged in planning the conference.
The conference will see the participation of delegates from around the world, representing veteran organizations from 142 countries.
The event aims to provide a platform for veterans to share experiences, discuss effective peace and security policies, and explore strategies for strengthening the involvement of veterans in addressing these issues.
Recognizing the desired importance that South Sudan places on the conference, Mr. Bergtun requested President Mayardit’s confirmation on the feasibility of hosting the event in Juba."
